Workshops for Girls and Women: Empowering IDPs in Chamchamal

Within the framework of UNFPA's program to provide psychological, social, and health services to IDPs, which Aran Organization for Developing Civil Culture implements as a key partner in the Chamchamal district:

Three specialized workshops were organized at the Aran Organization's office in Chamchamal, Charmo City, focusing on strengthening the spirit of volunteerism, health awareness, and psychological awareness among IDPs.

The first workshop was led by Mr. Falah Mustafa, a lecturer at the University of Human Development (UHD). The second workshop was conducted by Dr. Asmaa Khalid, a gynecologist and volunteer at Aran Organization. The third workshop was led by Dr. Hanan Khamees, a volunteer at Aran Organization, who has been appointed by Aran Organization to the Charmo Health Center specifically to see IDP patients, an effort to facilitate healthcare in Chamchamal.

In these three workshops, attended by 20 IDP women and girls in each session, the scientific methods of volunteering were discussed, especially during times when cities and regions face crises and catastrophic events. It was emphasized that it is very important for active individuals to work as volunteers, in partnership with NGOs, to facilitate assistance for citizens in various fields. Concurrently, a scientific discussion took place regarding the health and psychological problems that arise when political and military crises occur, leading to displacement.

Aran Organization, with the cooperation of UNFPA, has opened two community centers in the Chamchamal district dedicated to psychological and social well-being for IDP women. These centers also provide health counseling services to IDPs. Furthermore, two female doctors have been provided by the organization: one is placed within the Charmo Health Center to see IDP women, and the second doctor works within the Aran Organization's office to provide health counseling to IDP women and girls.
