Chamchamal, April 2025 – The city of Chamchamal witnessed an inspiring gathering of young minds as Aran Organization, in collaboration with the Kurdistan Without Genocide Organization, hosted a vital seminar aimed at empowering youth to stand against chemical weapons and genocide. The seminar was expertly directed by Trainer Aso Mohammed Mustafa, who guided participants through thought-provoking sessions and meaningful discussions.
Held under the banners “A World Without Chemical and Biological Weapons” and “Kurdistan Without Genocide”, the event brought together students and young people from across the region to learn, reflect, and strategize about their role in preventing the repetition of past atrocities.
The seminar focused on three key themes:
- Understanding the history and consequences of chemical weapons and genocide, with specific attention to the suffering experienced in Kurdistan.
- Raising awareness among youth about international conventions and the importance of advocacy for disarmament and justice.
- Encouraging young people to take active roles in education, community dialogue, and peacebuilding efforts.
Trainer Aso Mohammed Mustafa emphasized that youth are not only the leaders of tomorrow but also the guardians of memory and justice today. “When we equip young people with knowledge and purpose, we are building a society that says ‘never again’—and means it,” he said.
Throughout the seminar, participants engaged in group work, shared personal reflections, and developed action plans on how to raise awareness in their schools, universities, and online platforms.
The initiative is part of Aran Organization’s ongoing mission to foster a peaceful, just, and informed society—one that resists the dangers of chemical warfare and the repetition of genocide through education, advocacy, and collective memory.
