Aran Organization’s Ongoing Support for Women: Workshops and Community Centers

Aran Organization, in partnership with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), continues its vital work in providing social, health, and psychosocial services to Internally Displaced women and girls.

Recently, three impactful workshops were successfully held at the community center in Charmo city. These sessions were part of UNFPA's comprehensive program, with Aran Organization proudly participating as a key partner.

The workshops focused on two critical areas:

  1. Motivating Women to Volunteer: Encouraging women to actively participate as volunteers in their communities.
  2. Raising Health and Psychosocial Awareness: Providing crucial information and support regarding health and psychosocial well-being among women.

Each workshop saw the participation of 20 IDP women and was expertly facilitated by:

  • Falah Mustafa: An MA degree teacher at the University of Human Development (UHD).
  • Dr. Asmaa Khalid: A Gynecologist and volunteer at Aran Organization.
  • Dr. Hanan Khamees: A volunteer at Aran Organization.

During the workshops, facilitators emphasized the importance of volunteer action in disaster and crisis-stricken areas. They highlighted how volunteer teams working alongside NGOs are crucial for facilitating assistance and supporting people in various capacities. Discussions also covered the health and psychosocial challenges that women have faced during the ongoing political crisis.

It is important to note that Aran Organization, with the help of UNFPA, has established two community centers in the Chamchamal area. These centers are dedicated to providing psychosocial awareness and health counseling. Our commitment includes bringing in two doctors: one who provides direct health counseling at the community center, and another who works at the Charmo health center specifically to assist IDP women.
